Welcome to www.scandinavianskincare.com a new site dedicated to the most exclusive cosmetic brands from the Nordic countries.
It has been my dream to launch this site for many years. Having worked most of my life in the beauty industry I follow new brands and trends. Whenever I travel to another country, I visit beauty counters and perfumeries to seek out new or unknown brands. In Scandinavia I am always excited by the sheer abundance and variety of exceptional local brands found there.
It may seem fool hearted launching Scandinavian Skincare in the midst of the K-Beauty wave hitting our shores. However, I find Scandinavian beauty brands offer a strong alternative in terms of ingredients, sustainability, quality and design...
- Natural ingredients such as berries like sea buckthorn are often grown in harsh rugged coastal climates making them highly potent and rich in antioxidants.
- The science is second to none, especially when it comes to studies and use of Vitamin A.
- Recognising the importance of a healthy microbiome has seen the emergence of biotics included in many products.
- Finally - with a little Danish bias - the clean minimalist design makes the products very aesthetically pleasing.
One of the hardest decisions when launching a new website is when to go live - when is everything 'perfect'. The truth is there is no perfect time. There is always a new cool feature to add, the logo might not be quite right, the colours might need adjusting. In this case, thanks to Conde Nast and a tag in Tatler’s subscription offer the decision was made for me. The website had to go live as the July issue hit the shelves. So, whilst there are many changes ahead and several new brands in the pipeline, I am delighted to launch www.scandinavianskincare.com featuring an amazing Danish brand Skøn Skincare today.
